Custard - Forces Remain

    Hier schonmal ne erste vorab mini rezi,
    seitens eines Redakteurs des Squealer Rocks.




    So, nun bin ich im Besitz eines Rezi - Exemplars und kann nach 2 Durchläufen zumindest eine Mini - Kritik vorab geben:


    Es gibt eine Menge Songs, bei denen Ihr, wenn Ihr es nicht wüsstet, niemals auf Custard tippen würdet.


    Natürlich kommen die alten Trademarks nicht zu kurz, doch eine deratige Vielseitigkeit hätte ich niemals erwartet.


    Wann gab es schon mal 7 - minütige Epic - Balladen bei Custard?
    Überhaupt klingt das Album irgendwie "erwachsen".
    Durch Ollis Gesang gibt es desöfteren U.S. Metal Assoziationen und ich bilde mir zumindest ein, ein paar leckere Parallelen zu Priest ziehen zu dürfen.


    Noch schnell drei Hammeraspekte genannt:
    1. Jeder Song besitzt total viele interessante Details, es wird nicht einfach nur nach "Schema F" gezockt.


    2. Die Produktion wird - und ich maße mir an, das zu beurteilen - locker internationalen Maßstäben gerecht.


    3. Die neue Version von "God Of Storm" ist GOTT!!!


    Bis auf 2 Songs, mit denen ich mich wohl erst noch anfreunden muss, hat mich jede Nummer geradezu infiziert!


    Ich behaupte jetzt schon, dass dies das beste Custard Scheibchen überhaupt ist!!


    Spätestens am Samstag in Castrop, allerspätestens am 29. werdet Ihr mir alle zustimmen!!

    Ich bin voller Erwartungen und kann nachts schon nicht mehr ruhig schlafen, weil ich total aufgeregt bin.
    Nur schade, daß ich die CD nicht auf der Releaseparty mitnehmen kann, weil wir in Emlichheim sind, aber dann fahr' ich halt zu Media Markt. Ist das richtig, daß der offizielle Releasetag der 29.08. ist?
    Wenn die die Scheibe dann nicht haben, schick' ich den ganzen Laden zur Hölle. :smilebig:

    ich muss euch leider ne traurige mitteilung machen,


    leider hat das Presswerk unseren Wunschtermin nicht mehr realisieren können,
    weshalb wir am 16. noch NICHT die neue CD unter Hunderten erwartungsvollen Fans werden verteilen können. :wall:


    Wir haben bis zuletzt überlegt, ob wir da noch irgendne notlösung hinkriegen,
    aber das wäre letztenendes nicht Fan freundlich da das wirklich nur en abklatsch des Originals gewesen wäre.


    Aber es gibt auch drei gute Nachrichten,
    1. Das Wetter wird gut :D
    2. Die neuen T-shirts werden da sein.
    3. Ich denke es wird auch so ne geile Party werden.


    Das iss ja immerhin schonmal was ;)


    Achja, der offizielle release termin am 29.08 iss davon natürlich nicht betroffen.

    Naja, ich werde trotzdem am Samstag da sein. :D :D


    Dann müsst Ihr eben um so besser spielen, dass mir die Songs alle soooo fest im Gedächtnis bleiben, dass ich die weiteren 2 Wochen Wartezeit auch aushalten kann. :D :D

    I was really surprized by this disc. This is some VERY excellent Power Metal. Take Helloween, Heir Apparent, Marillion and Iced Earth mix them up and there you have the basic jist of the sound of Custard. I seen the name of this band and I wasnt very hopeful. I mean how good could a band with this name be ? Well 10 times better than what I thought. Having Started in 1987 this band has released some of the finest albums in the Genre of Power Metal. Custard take a fresh and innovative approach to their music so that there is no doubt of their stature in the world of underground Metal. I really like what this band is doing on " Forces Remain ". There is a slight orchestral approach to these tunes and it only adds in a positive way to the music. From the moment " Ancient Views " started I was taken aback by the production and delivery. From that point on I was hooked.
    Combining Crisp and sharp riffing with next to stellar drumming and a superb vocal performance, these guys definitely have an undergorund hit with this new album. This band could even rival the likes of the above mentioned bands with no problem at all. These tunes are extremely thought provoking and only get better as the cd progresses. IMO, the best tracks on this disc are " Warcraft " and " Kind of Peace " with " Kind of Peace " having a ballad type feel to it...The whole album is spectacular but these 2 songs really stand out. The originality of these 13 tracks speaks volumes about the band and their work ethic. The only thing I can think is if these guys are this good on cd I could only imagine what they sound like live. Bands this flawless and heavy don't come along everyday. And, other than the name Custard everything about this band is respectful and pristine. They keep true to what metal is about and show no signs of letting up anytime soon. I think that this disc is going to go on the list of one of my all time favorites. If you are a fan of Power Metal, then you should jump on this disc with no delay. This is some of the best material in this genre that I have heard in the last few years. Support these guys !!!
